The 51-year-old attended the ground breaking ceremony for the Raising Malawi Academy for Girls.
Meanwhile, it appears that a Malawi orphan has told Madonna what she’s long known.
“You are our god,” a child at Malawi’s Home Child Care Center reportedly told the megastar during her visit there Tuesday. “Where could we have been without you?”
And while Madonna is clearly a hit with the orphan crowd, the same cannot be said about yoga gurus.
In other news, it appears the Material Girl was left fuming after the famed Bikram Yoga inventor Bikram Choudhury refused to give her private lessons — insisting the singer would have to take a class like everyone else.
He says, “Madonna came to me and asked for private lessons. I would have none of that. If you want to learn from me, then you have to come to my classes. You have to leave your ego behind. If you disagree with her (Madonna), you’re immediately blacklisted.”
Choudhury insisted none of his other celebrity clients, including George Clooney, Jessica Simpson and Jim Carrey, have objected to his methods.
He adds, “They do 90 minutes of yoga whenever they’re near a Bikram school - even when they are overseas.”

Speaking in Mphandula, some 50 kilometers (30 miles) from Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe, the singer said Thursday: “I know you work in darkness. I will bring you electricity.”
Madonna’s Raising Malawi charity already has donated $500,000 for a child care center in the village that feeds and educates 3,000 orphaned children.
Madonna arrived in Malawi on Sunday accompanied by her four children. On Monday she broke ground for her $15-million Raising Malawi Academy for Girls.
