Joined by her father Joe Simpson and her best friend/hairdresser Ken Paves, a dressed down Jessica Simpson was seen arriving at Los Angeles International Airport earlier this afternoon (October 27).

The 29-year-old singer/actress/reality TV starlet proudly sported an elaborate henna design drawn on the hand as she made her way through the terminal.

Jessica was returning home from a trip to Mumbai, India where she was filming her new VH1 reality TV show, The Price Of Beauty.

The blonde beauty spent a week alongside Bollywood superstar Neha Dhupia where she was thrown a glamorous party in her honour at Mumbai’s most exclusive venue, Vie Lounge.

A rep for Miss Simpson says: “The intricate mehendi designs are typically Indian, and made with a turmeric paste. They’re worn at wedding ceremonies, and are supposed to bring good luck to eligible single women in India. It’s a big style statement too. The really intricate designs take hours to apply by hand using just a brush, the artists are very skilled.”

Jessica’s upcoming show will see her travel around the globe, finding out what different cultures consider beautiful and why.

I love henna. When I went to India I got this done and it really is a ritual and amazing to see how well it is done. I think Jess’s show sounds really interesting actually, I hope it is a success for her.
