Hollywood’s greenest stars stepped out in full force yet carbon-free at The 2009 Environmental Media Awards in Hollywood on Sunday night (October 25).
Hosted by Lexus and held at Paramount Studios, the star-studded gala saluted the creative teams behind music, film and television productions that raise public awareness of environmental issues by incorporating environmental messages in their work and “greening” their operations.
This year’s honorees included TV programs such as Grey’s Anatomy and The Simpsons and featured films such as The Day the Earth Stood Still for being the first carbon-neutral film in Hollywood history.
Meanwhile, entrepreneur Richard Branson was acknowledged for pledging to invest all proceeds from his Virgin Airlines toward developing clean fuels and renewable energy and singer Jason Mraz got a nod for committing to green touring and using sustainable textiles.
Celebrity attendees at the celeb-packed and environmentally-friendly affair included the likes of Alanis Morissette, Amy Smart, Bill Nye, Blythe Danner, Calista Flockhart, Harrison Ford, Dana Delany, Daryl Hannah, Ed Begely Jr., Ginnifer Goodwin, Katie Cassidy and Desperate Housewives actress Andrea Bowes.

wow!!
What is Hollywood doing about the DVD/Blueray manfucaturing, packaging and distribution
processes? It’s heavily dependant on plastics and petrol.. basically oil based products.
Maybe they should employ online Internet services like Hyper MP, and securely distribute and monetize their video content over P2P and BitTorrent networks.
Haven’t these rich idiots gotten the east anglia e-mails yet.
The global hoax is an excuse to get a treaty passed that will take all sovereinty away from rich countries and hand it to the corrupt united nations or a one world government type that will redistribute the wealth of nations around the planet.
Geez even China, India and Russia are on to that.
