A Page Six report earlier today claimed that Jessica Simpson and Gerard Butler enjoyed a date a couple of days ago at New York’s Soho House that was chaperoned by several of their friends, including her hair stylist Ken Paves.

Said a source: “They were at a table with friends, but Jessica and Gerard, who sat next to each other, seemed to only be interested in each other and chatted for hours. They were laughing and flirting and eventually left together, along with Ken.”

Great story. Only problem? Totally untrue.

Not only were the pair not on a date, but it appears that the only thing they have in common is the fact that they share the same makeup artist. Says an insider, “100 percent there is no romance.”
