According to Ray of Light’s 2008 Form 990, Ray of Light is now worth over $6 million in assets.
But Madonna gave away a total of $459,000 last year. Forbes, on the other hand, placed her annual take at $110 million and put her at number 3 on its celebrity earners list. Her last tour grossed $280 million.
Ray of Light has cut down to just a handful of charities, too. Madonna gave most of that money to Kabbalah or its associated causes. She sent $231,000 to Raising Malawi, which is a front for the Kabbalah Center; $150,000 to Kabbalah’s Spirituality for Kids; and $53,00o to the Gucci Foundation, which in turn was for Raising Malawi.
What this also means is that in the year, 2008, that Madonna was special guest at AmFar’s Cinema Against AIDS in Cannes, the singer donated no money from Ray of Light to that charity or to any other conducting AIDS research.
Not all of Hollywood is less than giving when it comes to donating money to charity. Barbra Streisand, Oprah, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Paul Simon, Steven Spielberg and even Madge’s BFF Rosie O’Donnell are all considered professional charity donors.

I never bother with hollywood’s fake charities, the ones that don’t get the HW attention do more.

donating is not a must but a choice. if she is cheap who cares, she earned everything she made.
Fine she can be cheap, the problem is that she and people like bono urge governments to take peoples’ hard earned money to give to the causes they deem worthy with your money.
Most celebs have their own charity foundations, but basically the money there comes from donations ordinary poor people give, as said here. Everyone and their mother knows they are only for promotional reasons to make them look good in the eyes of their audience.
Oprah’s Angel Network (or what was the name of her foundation), takes donations from people, and Oprah only pays for the administrative costs. I don’t know what else she gives, but I don’t think she gives in proportion to her yearly about $200-300 million earnings.
What does a single woman, without kids, do with HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS per year?
She could live well with one million per year and donate 199-299 million to good causes, but of course she doesn’t.

Her “Raising Malawi” foundation allocates MUCH more than $50,000. She built a friggin orphanage for God’s sake.
Plus, who’s to really know how much she (or anyone) donates anonymously?

I can’t believe these people. Fox News is so full of it, they’re always out after celebrities who speak out against right-wingers. The ROL foundation is just one organization she has. She has donated MILLIONS to various organizations working in Malawi directly (so it will be on her personal tax forms) and via her different organizations, not only her ROL ones. And Raising Malawi is not a front for the Kabbalah Center as Fox states, she has actually built multiple orphanages and schools there, set up scholarships, plus she’s supporting thousands of children there. How would she do that with $50k? She has also donated to many AIDS and cancer charities throughout the years. Last year alone she raised several millions for UNICEF for their work in Malawi. She also funded a Millennium Village with Dr Jeffrey Sachs. Incredibly sketchy report from Fox based on a single organization. Plus, those $6 million that were put in to the ROL organization were done by Madonna.
One final thing, just because she made $110 million this past year (about half of which she took home after taxes) doesn’t mean she has to give it away. She’s worked for her money and can do whatever she wants with it.

While Raising Malawi does accept public donations, the Ray of Light Foundation does not. The $6+ million in the organization all came from Madonna’s money.
The half a million she donated to earthquake victims came out of her private account and so did the $2-3 million she donated to 9/11 victims.
I cant stand this broad!!! simple as that!! She did all that MJ talk about how we have lost a icon and she got a lot of her moves and music from him , and then to turn around it was stated from a close source of his that he hated the bitch!!
