Jay Leno is no longer doing late night TV — but that certainly hasn’t stopped him from ruining it.
More than 200 NBC affiliates are fuming mad by the network’s decision to put Jay on every night at 10 p.m. because his weaker “lead-in” ratings are undermining audiences of 11 p.m. newscasts. (Local news programs are vital for local stations as they draw upon them for a third of their revenue.)
Branded the ‘Leno Effect,’ Jay’s poor ratings are making local stations grow antsy as they’re reportedly considering their own program alternative for the 10 p.m. hour.
Says Craig Allison vice president and general manager of KSHB of Kansas City, MO: “I’m not pleased with what Leno is doing. I don’t think anybody is.”

NBC screwed up by giving Leno’s slot to conan.
Conan is getting killed by letterman when Leno had double the letterman ratings.
If it ain’t broke don’t mess with it.
In fear of losing Leno to FOX they decided to put hin on at 10pm.
Fox could have put Leno against letterman and conan and hit the jackpot.
I don’t know anyone under retirement age who watches Leno.
Red eye is funny and edgy.
