Leona Lewis doesn’t just sing hit songs — she writes bestselling books!
The Bleeding Love singer was at Waterstone’s in Piccadilly, London today (October 14) to sign copies of her new book, Dreams.
For the first time, Leona tell her story and shares what it’s really like to go from a normal girl to a global superstar. That involves everything from growing up in Hackney, discovering her remarkable talent, the gruelling X Factor auditions, working with Simon Cowell and coping with international success.
Meanwhile, Leona will preview new material from her sophomore album Echo at an exclusive live show in London next month.
“I’m really excited to be playing my first full show in the UK at the Hackney Empire in front of the people who have helped me to get where I am today,” Miss Lewis says in a statement. “No-one has heard any of my new material yet so I really want to play it to my fans first and I can’t wait to get their reaction. As a local girl it’s an honor to get to perform at the [Hackney] Empire, so close to where I grew up. In the last few years I’ve travelled the world with work but Hackney is my home and always will be.”
UPDATE: A man was reportedly arrested over an alleged assault on Leona Lewis at the signing.
A Scotland Yard spokesman says police were called to Waterstones book store at Piccadilly, London, but Miss Lewis did not need hospital treatment.
A rep for the singer says that after 90 minutes of meeting and greeting fans, “a guy came up and punched her to the side of the head.”

Whoa. Geez. Sorry about the triple post.
A talented singer who has handled herself well–kind of rare today…
I love her voice and so far she’s had some good songs. She is interesting looking but looks manly at the same time.
Aw, I heard about the punching incident. A guy waited patiently in line at her book signing, only to go up and sock her once it was his turn. Couldn’t this have happened to annoying tarts like Hilton or Gaga instead? Lewis is bland, but she seems to be very sweet and generally stays out of the headlines.
