SOPHIA BUSH SOUNDS OFF ON YOUNG HOLLYWOOD

Sophia Bush hit up The Bonnie Hunt Show today (October 13) to talk about the long-runningteen show, the role her teachers played in her life and her thoughts on young hollywood.

The One Tree Hill actress tells Bonnie that she was honored to be asked to join the organization, ‘Teachers Count,’ because herteacher were so influential in who she has become and how she prepares for roles which she takes very seriously. She says, “I think particularly with young people in the entertainment industry the focus has gotten inappropriate. When people can have careers which consist of nothing but going to parties…and they get paid to go to parties because they’ve been less than clothed…it’s not something I can believe in.”

Sophia continues, “The thing that I find very detrimental when that example is being set for young women is even should you be this sort of person who will lower yourself enough to live by an I”ll-do-anything-to-be-famous standard, it doesn’t last.

Because on One Tree Hill she plays an, “out of control sexpot girl and had a nervous breakdown every morning at work beforeI had to shoot the scenes,” she is always asked what she thinks is sexy and she always says, “I think smart is sexy because that’sall that last.”

I like her but she is sounding a little holier than thou. I don’t think we’ll be hearing much from her after One Tree Hill.

I agree Anonymous, she sounds concieted for someone who’s biggest credit is being on a show that should have been canceled along with The O.C.

She is not conceited, she is a smart, talented young actress who thinks that the party scene is lame and not a good way to become famous. She may not be on the path to become some huge Hollywood star, but I think she will always work because she offers more than just being stunningly beautiful.

She is stating the facts, what is so concieted about that when the interviewer ask her these questions. Honestly do you want your kids to grow up thinking that they can be famous without actually getting an education.

I still find it conceited. It’s okay to feel that way but when you start talking about other people and speak of yourself as if your better, I’m sorry but that’s being concieted to me. I know she didn’y name any names but come on we all know which girls she means. All she had to say was “I’d rather spend my time doing more productive things”, then going into detail and talking about what some other girls do. And No I would not want my children thinking it’s okay not to have an education but then again I would never want my children to look up to anyone in the media. So they wouldn’t look to someone like Lindsay Lohan but then wouldn’t look up to someone like Sofia Bush either, they should be looking up to their parents.

Oh Gia…you don’t have teenagers do you? They seldom want to be in the same room with their parents much less asknowledge that they look up to them. It is true that while they are young, you start instilling some values in them and leading them in the right direction in life, but once they hit a certain age it is all about their favorite tv stars, movie stars and these days celebrities who do nothing but carry brand name products that carry over inflated price tags. If my teenaged daughter told me she wanted to be like Sophia Bush I’d encourage that over her desires to grow up to be just like Paris or one of the Kardashians.

Your right Audrey, I don’t have teenaged children or children of any kind. I never looked up to any celebs as rolemodels so I thought other kids didn’t either. But I guess if I had to choose, someone like Sophia would be a better choice.
