   2 I’ve never been a fan of hers (particularly after she outed her (ex) huband on his struggle with drugs) but I think it’s pretty cool of her to do this.

   6 I thought the cancer-hair charities only took non-dyed hair, because I’m pretty sure she dyes hers.

   7 She is: great actress; great body; behaves herself and seems to be a down to earth person (no Diva there). As for her ex-husband–he needed to be outed; she should have blown him off two or three years ago…

   8 If the dyed hair isn’t severely damaged they will take it. You can dye your hair and still have it be healthy :]

   9 I like her and I don’t really understand why people don’t. They just always give the horseface thing as an excuse and that is pretty petty. In reality she is far more good looking than most average looking women. This is about the 3rd time she has grown her hair out to give it away. She said she takes really good care of it and taked tons of vitamins so I am guessing it is pretty healthy regardless of if she dyes it.

    10 I’ve donated hair 4 times, but they usually ask for 10″ (if possible). They will use natural or permed hair and hair that is dyed. They cannot use gray hair or hair that has been bleached. HOWEVER, if you send in bleached or gray hair, or if your hair ends up being overprocessed, they will SELL it for-profit wig makers and use the money to help the organization. Either way, you’re helping their cause.

    11 Why doesn’t Oprah cut off her nappy hair and donate it as well? Why you ask? I’ll tell you why, no one wants a nappy hair wig, cancer or not, they’d rather go bald and rub crisco all over their scalp!

    14 Oh wow!! How cool of her to do that? Cutting off my hair is just something I don’t think I’d ever be able to do, but for some women its as easy as going shopping. Good on you Janie, I really admire you for doing that! Don’t listen to what some of the posters say on here.

    15 I have lost all my hair due to cancer. I went to american cancer to get a wig and it was dont real hair . they said they only had this kind. Are you selling the hair what are they doing are the rich people getting real hair. what is going on, i plan to tell everyone. your show made me sick. I have on hair and one more radiation treatment and a bad wig that is not real. Joyce
