During last night’s ‘Larry King Live’, womanizing magician Criss Angel finally revealed just what went wrong during Britney Spears’ humiliating MTV Awards performance last month.
He says: “Well, I was working with Britney on the MTV Awards where she was going to perform. And I was asked by my manager, Dave Baram, who was also managing her career with Jeff Kwatinetz for a short time, to help put something together. So I met with Britney. We discussed something. Everybody loved what we came up with. But it required a tremendous amount of work and a dedication that Britney decided to not want to put forth and do something that she felt would be better suited for her. And I completely understand that and it’s totally, you know, cool.”
As for whether Criss was embarrassed for Britney? “You know, she — I understand what she goes through in her life. She lives under a microscope. And it’s unbelievable to see what this girl — it’s difficult to watch. And so I really feel for her. I really want the best for her. I want her to be happy. I want her to be — feel complete. And, you know, if she is happy with her performance, I guess that’s what matters.”
Meanwhile, new reports claim that Britney will have very little to do with the promotion of her comeback album. And by “very little” I mean nothing at all.
The singer’s label has officially given up on getting the troubled pop tart more involved in marketing her own album, “Blackout,” sources tell us.
There are no plans for a tour, for example - highly unusual for a star who once cranked out hits like widgets and is riding high on the charts with her single “Gimme More.”
“They can’t get Britney to do anything!” said a source close to the label and Spears. “They did get her to do one photo-shoot for some promotional materials, but beyond that, they can’t trust her to even show up. This album could’ve been so much bigger with Britney involved.
“This is the one opportunity they have to try and sell a million records. They were forced to [go on with] their marketing plan” — without her.
Hey, nobody complains about the fact that her songs are created without her so I don’t wanna hear a word about Britney’s lack of promo participation!

We all knew this, as if she would go on tour. And every night would be a replay of the VMA’s? I doubt she even wanted to release the cd, she was probably just getting broke and needed the money.

for the tour they will splice a bunch of old videos together and have people watch screens while dancers dance their little hearts out - hoping no one will notice….meanwhile back in the swamp Shitney will be too dazed and drunk to know WTF is happening….she just got paid to breath into a microphone…that’s it y’all…you can do with it whatever you want.

Arasto, I completely agree with your last comment and was about to say the same myself. She had absolutely nothing to do with her album. All she did was show up and breath into a microphone. It makes me sick how she gets away with this shit while there are REAL, struggling artists out there who would give anything to make it big. I wish she would disappear forever.

The sad thing is that she is ruining her career with no help. Everyone has been saying for years that she is over, that she has no talent, that people are sick of her. Well it’s not true (well the no talent thing IS true). If she still wanted to be the #1 pop star in the world, she would be. People will still buy her crappy music. She isn’t like Jennifer Lopez, who still wants to be on top but the public is over her. Britney’s demise is self imposed. I just don’t get her. She obviously doesn’t want it anymore.

exactly arasto and maximum….they should have the producers do the promotion.
The CD is still going to do very well- unfortunately.
At least her Judge gave her what she deserves.

Why should she bother promoting the album? She has thousands of brainwashed fans to do it for her.
