Marc Jacobs is famous (or perhaps infamous) for his eccentric take on footwear. (Who could ever forget about his backwards heels?)

This year the American designer did not disappoint as he sent an array of modified clogs, moccasins and penny loafers down the runway at Cour Carrée du Louvre in Paris today (October 7).

Each were accented with either tassels, fringe or makeshift ponytails.

Our thoughts on Marc’s must-have items for Spring?

This would be funny if it were not so sad. There are probably many people out there who will jump at these because it will make them feel important and on the edge. They are ridiculous and if people who buy this crap would just stop it, then the rest of us wouldn’t have to look at this. It’s OK to say that the emperor has no clothes. These are ugly and designers who run out of ideas should just hang up their drawing pencils and go quietly home.
