Today’s New York Post is calling for the firing of David Letterman.
Writes Andrea Peyser: “CBS has got to dump David Letterman. Right now. If the Tiffany Network continues to coddle the crotchety king of late night, it will rightly be known as the destination of choice for any girl who jiggles, giggles and puts out repeatedly for a man old enough to be her father.
Dave must go. If not, CBS will have lost any remaining shred of credibility, not to mention common decency.”

Letterman is fine; he never was the “Family Values” type. Yes, he probably cheated on his girlfriend now wife. But at least he does go around claiming he is Mr. “Family Values” like some of our politicians (can you just see the grin on all “Fake News” reporters/ commentators and the Palin fringe). This has been a tough summer, for Dave, for our economy but at least he did not end up on the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Stanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC).

Wow, getting fired for having sex with someone you work with. I haven’t heard many details, but did he coerce any of these women, or threaten them with losing their jobs, or belittle them in the work place? He is not a politician who got elected for his platform on family values, or chasing after underaged girls. What he is, is a late night talk show host. I wasn’t aware that they had to live by higher standards than anyone else in the country.
I believe that the American people can see the distinction between a Late Night jokester and a Politician who preaches one thing and lives another. And I also believe that the American people will have more compassionate about this situation, but who knows what the court case will reveal.
