The surprise guest at last night’s ‘American Gangster’ screening at the Arclight in Hollywood was none other than Mel Gibson .
The controversial director appeared sane, sober and happy. Shocking, I know.
Mel stopped just long enough in front of the press to hug the film’s stars, Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe, pose for a few photos and tell the actors how much he was looking forward to seeing their film.
Hmm….a political/publicity move, perhaps? Could Mel be staging a comeback?

Mel is crazy but he looks hot in his old age. Denzel looks amazingly old in that top pic! What happened?

I love Mel!

What do you mean his career has jumped the shark? Even after the DUI incident, he had a hit with Apocalypto, a movie with subtitles with no stars. I think you might be wishful thinking I think that phrase “has jumped “jumped the shark”.
Yes, Mel still looks damned HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Photographic proof of the Hollywood double standard. Any actress who let herself go like Russell, Denzel and Mel have would have been out of work 5 years ago. (Actually Mel looks to be aging fairly gracefully, but still).

It’s great to see Mel Gibson on the red carpet again. Let’s hope he’s thinking of appearing in front of the camera sometime next year. You’ve defied the Hollywood establishment with The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto. And if you get behind the camera I’m hoping you tackle the life of Jesus Christ. You are an inspiring and courageous director. Well done Mel and stay healthy!
