The late-night host reportedly received a package a few weeks ago from a person claiming to know about the secret relationships and threatening to reveal them if he didn’t cough up the cash. After an investigation by the special prosecution bureau of the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, Dave was instructed to furnish a phony check. The culprit was arrested shortly thereafter.
Opening up to the grand jury, Dave said it’s “something I’ve never done in my life,” and confirmed he’d been involved with the staffers.
He told viewers: “My response to that is, yes I have. Would it be embarrassing if it were made public? Perhaps it would. I feel like I need to protect these people. I need to certainly protect my family.”
The district attorney’s office is expected to reveal more about the arrest on Friday. Stay tuned….

I hardly think his revelation deserves all the applause it got. Was he sleeping with these staffers while married?
