As huge Mary J fans, we are a little disappointed. The song does not have the pain of ‘No More Drama’ nor does it have the fun of ‘Family Affair.’
Much like the song, the video is very forgettable.
Let’s hope her second release is a bit more grit, and less slick.

I like Mary (after years of NOT liking her - and I was the first person I know to buy her first CD and rave about this “new” singer who was going to kick ass on the charts). Love the song (and it’s message). Do your thing Mary - middle age is working well for you and you are working the HELL out of your middle years.
Mary has lost her touch. Unfortunately. She’ll be back though, but I just think her personal life is weighing her down right now. I hear a divorce isn’t so far away.
This track is okay but it’s one of the weakest on the whole album. I’ve heard about half of it and it’s fantastic.
I love this song, and the message. I wish more women would make songs like this! Way to go Mary!
It’s lighter fare than her usual stuff, imo. It’s a nice change of pace.
It is lighter but What the fuck ever, at least she’s talented. Seriously, I mean I’m so tired of hearing about how people like Rihanna’s album is selling so well its completely disgusting that people want such half arsed synthesised crap so for me its a welcome change to see some MJB. She is the QUEEN of soul (so far)

I’ve been a huge MJB fan from the start. To be honest, she often doesn’t often release the best tracks off her albums as singles , and this is no exception. I think the beat and the tune is kind of bland and it doesn’t do anything for me. There was a point around the “Mary” album where she adjusted her singing style to more ” diva” like, sort of like she was trying to sound like Aretha. You can hear the difference between her early albums and now.Personally I think that Amerie is now better than Mary, Amerie’s last 3 albums have been awesome from start to finish.
