BLACKOUT WILL SELLOUT

britney-blackout-review.jpg

The good reviews for Britney Spears’ new album keep pouring in. This time from USA Today.

CLICK HERE to check it out. Otherwise, here are some highlight:

- “Britney Spears hasn’t been able to lose the paparazzi in recent months, but she does joyously lose herself in music on her new Blackout…”

- “The notorious party girl’s first studio album in four years is wall-to-wall club-bangers, thanks to the pulsating beats and production board wizardry of Timbaland protégé Nate “Danja” Hills and her Toxic collaborators Bloodshy & Avant. Spears does her part by brashly slinking over the rhythms with sexy promises to “turn the heat up.”

- “The best thing about Blackout is that it makes no pretense about showcasing her vocal prowess with warbled ballads. For Britney, hitting the high notes means getting you into the groove so you can get into her. You can move your feet or just move on.”

Just when you thought it was time for her to hang up her sequined short shorts, Britney has seemingly churned out another hit album.

Pure creative genius: Beethoven. Mozart. And now Britney.

It could have 13 #1 hits along with 2 bonus tracks and I wouldn’t buy it for $.01.

I can’t believe people still buy albums. The only album I bought all year was an old Amy Winehouse one because it wasn’t on itunes.

I wonder what USA Today charges (in Frappacinos and McD’s arch-cards) for a good review these days. PFFFFFT!!!

I own most of her albums, and I already listened to the streamed version on vh1.com…..and I absolutely hate all the songs (except Ooh ooh baby), but since one song isn’t really worth all that $$$ for an album, i’ll pass.

she barely did anything on the album - it was all vocal manipulation. over-engineered.
    .
and asrto, why are you so supportive of this album suddenly? you were so against it earlier.

I listened to it yesterday…..”Piece of Me” is fantastic…..it really is. Two others I could definitely see growing on me, the rest are good beats, but her voice is really annoying. The breathy, scratchy throat moans we’ve all heard before. Most of the songs have a line about “your smile, your taste”- redundant.
I think the album will do really well, which is unfortunate, b/c her ego will be inflated even MORE and she will be even more resistant to any advice in her Personal Life.
I will have a friend of mine locate “Piece of Me” online and get it for free, because I will not give Brit any of my money ever again. unless she gets her shit together.

I’ve heard the album, and its not that bad (still wouldn’t buy it, b/c its not my type of music). If she can get her life together and start promoting the album, it might be a big hit for her.

I don’t hate her, but I don’t feel sorry for her, either. The girl can’t sing; she never could. She was always a product of the Great God Overdub, and that was okay. She was successful in 1999 because she was new and different, and her success continued because of her stage presence, her dance skills, and the fact that her music worked so well for club remixes. I spent money on her because her stuff was fun. I won’t spend a dime on her now. She destroyed what talent she had with booze and drugs, and cynically used the train wreck of her personal life to keep herself in the news for the four years since her last original album. Now she’s “rewarding” her loyal fans for their patience with retreads of the same tired formula. My guess is that most sales will be the result of wanting to participate in the circus, or pity. That doesn’t make her a musician, it makes her a freak show and a charity case.

psl, who has it online? I could swear I came across it yesterday and meant to go back to it and listen but forgot. And pretty much every review has mentioned ‘Piece of Me’ as a standout track. I’ll give it a listen.

Arasto, quit taking bribes for this album - I don’t get why you’re suddenly pimping it so hard. Oh, and 3 reviews from who-the-hell-knows-where are not a smash as far as I’m concerned. Notice they all talk about the production, not the song quality. And that last quote?? What retard Britney fan wrote that? Check your sources.

It’s going to flop because she can’t do anything to promote it. And she’s hardly in any shape to go on tour - that’s where all the money is.
