Drew Barrymore, Ellen Page and Kristen Wiig were serving up some serious girl power at last night’s (September 13) premiere of Whip It at the Ryerson Theatre during the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival.
Directed by none other than Miss Barrymore herself, the flick follows the story of a misfit Texan girl played by Ellen who enters the rough and tumble world of roller derby. Both ladies ended up on the deck on numerous occasions while filming.
“I did take some serious hits man,” Drew revealed on the red carpet. “I got knocked on my head, I got hit around a lot.” For her part, Ellen suffered a sore wrist as a result of a fall.
Thankfully, both beauties made it to the premiere without serious injury.
