Joined by co-stars Gabourey Sidibe, Paula Patton and Sherri Shepherd, the 39-year-old singer/actress was on hand to celebrate the much buzzed-about indie drama that Tyler Perry and Oprah exec-produced.
While on the red carpet, Mariah — who dramatically glammed down to play a social worker — said a climactic scene in which Precious’ mother (played by comedienne Monique) is confronted about the abuse the young girl suffered was so difficult, she and the other actors cried between takes.
“None of us were supposed to be crying, but it (the scene) was so deep and so raw, that we couldn’t help it, she said. “Cameramen were crying.”

why does she insist on being stuck in the damn 90s?
This woman seriously needs a style change.
her hairstyle reminds me of her in “vision of love”.
she’s over
I much prefer her hair natural like this, than flat ironed to he head.
I also wish she’d wear her natural more often. She really looks like her ‘Vision of Love’ days.
she looks so good with her hair like this! younger even!
I think she looks great! Marriage is definitely agreeing with her.
i never thought i’d say this about Mariah but i love her look. Why would she smooth out her hair if she could have big large senual curls like this?
WOW. I love her hair like this! Much more flattering than the bone-straight look she always goes for…which makes her body look big in proportion to her head, btw. This is very feminine.
