Is Halle Berry the new Mel Gibson?
The big screen beauty is apologizing for an anti-semitic remark she made last night on Jay Leno’s show.
The Oscar-winning star, on the show to promote her movie “Things We Lost in the Fire,” was showing Leno and his audience images of herself on her computer using the Mac program Photo Booth, which distorts images like a carnival fun-house mirror.
According to one audience member, “She introduced the first photo by saying, ‘Here’s where I look like my Jewish cousin!’ - it was a picture of her with a huge, distorted nose. No one laughed, and Jay nervously said, ‘I’m glad you said that and not me.’ When the show aired, they cut out her ‘Jewish’ comment and added a laugh track to the bit.”
Another guest in the audience told us, “If you watch the clip, you can see Halle saying the word ‘Jewish,’ though obviously there is no audio. NBC covered her a - -. Ms. Berry should know how unbelievably inappropriate her comment was . . . She should be ashamed of herself.”
Well, it looks like she certainly was ashamed of herself. The 41-year-old actress told Page Six last night: “I so didn’t mean to offend anybody - and after the show I realized it could be seen as offensive, so I asked Jay to take it out, and he did.”
What’s more? She even offered to call the “source” and apologize in person, saying, “It was just a lighthearted segment that was meant to make fun of myself. There was a picture where I said I looked like Monica Lewinsky and one where I said I looked like Jay. It was just supposed to be a silly segment. I am so sorry, and I apologize.”
Something tells me we haven’t heard the last of this yet….

People need to get over themselves already. So she made a crack about Jews and noses, its not like she made a holocaust joke. PRIORITIES?! I bet most Jews aren’t offended, its the petty bitties who sit and wait for someone to say anything then jump on the anti-whatever bandwagon.

I don’t really care for Halle Berry because she is WAY too fake for me. I do agree that people need to lighten up though. The funny thing is if a white person went on tv and showed a picture of them distorted with a wide nose and said this is me as a black person she would be pissed. The comment was not tasteful but also not worth getting all fired up about because EVERYONE is racist to some extent.
First of all, the title was Nazi. Not Natzi. I agree though that when I read the title I expected to read that she went on a racial rant on Leno. This was inappropriate for todays politically correct crowd and she probably shoud have not said it. At least she apologized. But,that being said, I also feel that people take every little thing to heart way way way too much. We will ALWAYS, I repeat, ALWAYS be a world of Jews, blacks, whites, Asians, Latinos, Christians, Muslims, etc. etc. That fact won’t change. None of us are going away. We are what we are and words are just words. You either let it get under your skin or you rise up and tell yourself that you are better than that and you move on. Actually Pak they’ve predicted that in as little as 4 generations the boundary between races will be blurred to the point of almost oblivian. Even Jews who used to be so anti-mixed marriage have laxed their views on the subject.
