The publicity stunt has come to an end.

Dancing duo Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have reportedly called off their “engagement.”

“I am confirming that they did indeed break up,” Karina’s rep tells E!. No word Max’s camp yet.

A sign that their agreement was going sour was about a month ago when they were debuting on Broadway in Burn the Floor. Claiming they were just too busy — especially with the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars — the so-called lovebirds refused to plan the wedding.

“We don’t plan,” Maks said. “We’re [rehearsing] 14 hours a day.”

“The only thing we’ve decided on is next year in June,” Karina added. “We were supposed to pick the place, but we’ve never actually had the time to go further.”
