Looking casual yet chic in a blue-striped wifebeater, dark denim jeans and and gold flip-flops, ‘The Hills’ star Lauren Conrad engages in some self-indulging retail therapy while on the L.A. set of her hit reality show on Wednesday.

After picking up a select few of items (courtesy of MTV, of course), the 21-year-old reality runt hopped into her black Mercedes and sped away without chatting up the paparazzi. The reason? Lauren wanted to avoid questions about yesterday`s news that an internet hacker targeted ex-BFF Heidi Montag`s webpage, leaving a post that suggested she and faux beau Spencer Pratt were reponsible for fuelling false rumours that Lauren had made a secret sex tape.

A reality star avoiding media attention? How totally subversive!

    I think she looks cute here. She knows how to dress and she is a very pretty girl. I think the whole Hills thing is made up though, and the rivalry between the two of them could very easily be just something that the producers made up in order to have a third season. I mean seriously….how many times can you watch them go out for dinner? Reality shows have got to have some drama to them, and its never been a big secret that some of the plotlines are set up.
