Showing off her famous million dollar smile, Julia Roberts was seen on the streets of Manhattan today (August 20).
The 41-year-old actress was clearly in good spirits as she spent the afternoon filming scenes for her upcoming flick, Eat, Pray, Love.
Julia will soon make her way to India to film some integral shots for the movie adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert’s bestseller by the same name, and some Hindus are concerned about the authenticity of the depiction of sacred ashram. Religious leaders are leaders are urging producers to use spiritual consultants in a bid to make sure the movie offers an authentic portrayal of life in a sacred retreat. (Julia will reportedly film in one ashram as she portrays the author, who spent four months there scrubbing floors.)
Rajan Zed, the leader of the Universal Society of Hinduism, says: “Hinduism and its belief system are quite often misunderstood and incorrectly depicted outside India. I urge the filmmakers to stay true to authentic traditions. Misrepresentation would not be fair to Hindus and Hinduism. The people of India will be anxious to see how perfectly Roberts does her job of cleaning ashram floors as a part of her devotional duty, trying to recite 182-verse Sanskrit chant, and going through gruelling hours of meditation, while being feasted on by mosquitos. If the filmmakers need any help concerning the depiction of Hinduism or related issues, I, myself, or other Hindu scholars would be glad to assist.”
Much of the crew used for the upcoming flick are the same people who brought you 2009’s Oscar fave, Slumdog Millionaire.

Damn she looks old. And being in India during the summer doesn’t sound fun to me.
God. That movie sounds boring.
A - This story is kinda old.
B - Julia has FAS. (fat arm syndrome). It’s what scares Madonna most of all and it’s why she exercises her arms to the extent she does. Julia doesn’t seem to care.
