KIMORA, SHREK….SHREK, KIMORA….

Taking a break from diaper duty, Kimora Lee Simmons enjoyed a day out sans the newborns in New York City today (August 15).

Joined by hubby Djimon Hounsou and her daughters from another father Ming Lee, 9 ½, and Aoki Lee Simmons, 7, the designing diva caught a showing of Shrek The Musical at the Broadway Theatre.

Meanwhile, in a new interview with Working Mother, Kimora gets candid about being bullied as a child among a slew of other hot topics. Some highlights:

Kimora on being teased and ridiculed by other kids: “Outgoing as I am today, I was a loner growing up. I was a mixed-race girl with a Korean-Japanese mother and an African-American father, and none of the other kids at my school were like me. I was nearly six feet tall by the time I was 11-years-old. Everything about me seemed to be a source of ridicule to other kids: my face, my height, the texture of my hair, my body shape.”

Kimora on being taught her to keep her head up by her mom Joanne Perkins: “My mother wanted me to turn my tears into something else, something positive. She did her best to make me feel comfortable in my own skin. She always reminded me that we’re all different and that’s to be respected. ‘Put on your game face,’ she’d say. ‘Yes, it hurts, but don’t succumb to it. It will pass.’”

Kimora on passing down those lessons to daughters Ming, Aoki Lee and 10-week-old Kenzo: “As my mom did for me, I’m helping my own girls learn about tolerance — to respect differences in culture, religion and even the way we look. I also try to set boundaries, let them know what’s expected and give them room to develop and grow. I will do the same with my infant son.”

Kimora on respect and motherhood: “We’re all in the same boat. We have similar fears and hopes for our kids. We bring home the bacon, and then we enjoy it with our kids. They need us and we need them. My kids and my business make my world go ’round — they’re what I live for.”

I admire both Kimora and Jennifer Lopez for their business, fashion sense and ambition.
    No silver spoons here.

No silver spoons? JLO is the biggest diva ever. I would give her a good slap across the face if she went diva on me.

I’m sorry but while she may say that she was brought up humble and accepting of other people she definately does not come across that way. I could barely sit through one episode of her reality show because of her rudeness to the people around her. I respect the fact that she’s created a business for herself (with Russell’s money and connections of course) but that doesn’t mean she has to be rude to people. Her daughters are going to grow up to be as spoiled and bratty as she is.

    “No silver spoons here.”

My ass. Without Russell’s name, money, and connections, Kimora would be just another fug bitch with an oversized ego. She’s butt-ugly, her fashion is crap, and her daughters are brats in training.

Kimora would be NOTHING if she hadn’t hooked up with Russell. So don’t tell me how hard-working and talented she is. Bitch just knows how to use men, that’s all.

I think all of Kimora’s “fabulosity” is one big act. I’ve warmed to her after seeing some of her show; she’s not that bad. She seems down to earth and you can tell she’s a good mom. That Aoki is off the chain…
