JULIA GETS HONOURED

After presenting the American Cinematheque award to BFF George Clooney last year, it was Julia Roberts turn to receive the very same honour.
The 39-year-old actress said she came along at the right time to turn into an A-list actress.
“I think I came along at a kinder time in the business, It wasn’t about fashion, and there weren’t so many media outlets, it was just kind of different. You could really cultivate your work a little more gently.”
On hand were Tom Hanks and Sally Field.

I love her! I think she’s a very very talented actress and she has this glowing personality that always shines through in her roles. She’s one of the few actresses that I can kind of forget she is Julia Roberts and feel like she actually is her character when I’m watching her.

She looks pretty and all and can genuinely act but this award….uh NO. I think they are just handing them out too quickly but whatever at least it shows Hollywood hasn’t completely forgotten that acting used to be about how good you were at it and not how popular you were or how big your boobs/drug addiction is.

eh..those American Cinematheque Awards are basically handed out to everybody, so it’s not surprising that she got it. They are sort of like baby AFI’s…handed out at the mid-point of your career.

HOLY CRAP, she is looking great. Its nice to see a real true SUPER STAR, say what you want about Julia but she made her name because of the sucess of her films, not because of her hair, or how fashionable she was, who she was dating.
Hollywood misses her badly, they tried to pushes us several new american sweethearts, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Aniston, but Julia would put them to shame.

Julia looks beautiful. I really like her, she’s very charismatic. I’m not convinced that she’s a great actress though (I’m the opposite of you, Stephi- I’m usually aware I’m watching Julia Roberts play some character)… but I’ve always liked her movies and would definitely welcome a return to the big screen. Glad to see she went back to a darker hair color too! Now if only Nicole Kidman would follow suit… ;o)

ughh i love her, i cant just not. She is beautiful and a great acctress. i love watching her movies, esp. Erin Brockovich. hahaha

I think she looks weird…am I the only one? Something is different — she has aged a lot. And where is the gorgeous smile? She needs to smile more…without the fabulous smile she is just average. I like her work…she has made some great films…but I still think she looks weird.

^I think she looks “weird” because she probably hasn’t had work done on her face like other older actresses. She’s starting to look a lot like Kyra Sedgwick.
