While many of her counterparts are either in rehab, just out of rehab or on their way to rehab, Hollywood starlet Mandy Moore enjoys a quiet afternoon of shopping with a pal at the Barnes And Noble store in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Looking comfy but chic in a cardigan, skinny jeans and flats, the 23-year-old actress picked up a few choice items before she and her companion met up with friends at the Urth Café for some brunch.
The only thing not so ordinary about Mandy’s day out in L.A.? The $2400 patent leather YSL bag that she proudly toted around.
Hey, nobody’s perfect.

I love book shopping, its very relaxing.
she does not have the body for skinny jeans.
sorry Mandy, face it.
Mandy, you (and Kelly Clarkson) need to stay away from the skinny jeans. They look terrible.
She would be soo hot if she lost a little weight - maybe 15 lbs

^ Me too! I tend too spend more than I originally intended to when I go, however :o). Speaking of which… I need some book recommendations! I just finished The Kite Runner and it was fantastic (although really depressing).
.
On topic: Mandy is cute. I happen to like her size, it’s refreshingly average. I do agree about the skinny jeans though…
Wahhh. I hate typos. “TO”.
I don’t think she’s fat, sh ejust should not wear skinny jeans- just to clarify.
the Kite Runner was a really good book- the first half more than the second…I found the ending to be predictable…..
The Kite Runnner was really great but it was disturbing and sad. Have you read Water for Elephants? I thought is was really good
I think it is nice to see she has an average body but why does she always dress so frumpy for only being 23?
oh, Aysla…..read (if you haven’t)
The Time Travellers Wife
The Doctor’s Wife
The Ice Queen
A Million Little Pieces (even after the controversy, it’s still an amazing read)
hope you haven’t read all these
I thought Mandy was pretty skinny. I had no idea she gained weight/became more normal-sized.
who’s the queer queer she’s with?

^ I haven’t :o). Thanks a bunch for the suggestions ladies! Jotting them down– I’ll bring this list with me when I hit the book store this weekend.
Wasn’t she a skinny little thing when she first came out with that song Candy? Man, it just sucks when you reach your 20’s and your metabolism starts acting like a bitter little bitch.
I’m so jealous. The Urth Cafe is one of the best places to get a meal in all of L.A. Everything is so fresh and delish. I miss it everytime I travel. Seriously make it a stop when you come visit. Just ignore the few annoying hipsters. There are a lot reg people too!
ooh i love books. i’m jotting down these suggestions! :O) i loved mandy moore when she made a guest appearance on “how i met your mother” sooo cute!
Books! You guys should read:
The Shadow of the Wind
Life of Pi
Shantaram
His Dark Materials (going to be a movie!)
Down Under (hilarious!)
I like mandy and i don’t really know why… i don’t even think she’s super talented or anything.
Blandy Moore again. Why does anyone care? Her most loved attributes seem to be that people find her inoffensive and refreshingly tubby (by Hwood standards). That’s nice, but can’t she just go do that in Idaho?
^^ her lot in life is to now be the official spokeswoman for “average”
love that sweater! (P.LIM)
She looks kind of “round” on her legs…a
over all a very refrigerator kind of shape….
Yeah she has definately put on a lot of weight since she first started in the industry, mainly I think because she doesn’t really care that much about what she looks like. It’s a good thing I guess but if she actually wants success like she had before she needs to realise that she needs the entire package…unfortunately thats just the way it is. I’ve always thought she had a pretty face though.
Seriously though why is she still being photographed? The last thing I remember her doing was that horrid movie American Dreamz…absolutely pathetic.
i love her. she just seems so lovely and sweet. i don’t care about her movies or albums being flops. she just seems like such a genuinely sweet person, and that’s what i really admire.
also, “a walk to remember” will always be a sentimental favourite
