Considering the fact that Jessica Simpson lacks any real talent, this is probably really good news.
The pimple-free pop star has just renewed her deal with Proactiv and has made new infomercials that will air around Christmas time.
“She did re-sign for another year. She has a great relationship with them,” said her business manager, David Levin. Simpson was rumored to have gotten a hefty $3 million paycheck for the new ads.
Jessica better make her money with endorsements while she can — the whole singing/acting thing certainly isn’t panning out.

Does anyone know if Proactiv is any good? I’m curious to try it, but it’s so damn expensive that I don’t want to waste money if it’s crap.
One of my nephews uses Proactiv and it really does work. It takes a few weeks to see results but you do eventually see them and then you can’t really skip a day without repurcussions. The poor boy had severe acne. I agree the price is steep, I’m lucky my girls do fine w/ Clearasil. **knock on wood**
I used it religiously and I never even had bad acne. I just would have random zits here and there. I have fantastic skin because of it and get compliments on it all the time. Also, if you have those bumps on your arms, if you use Proactive it gets rid of those too. I used to use Clinique and so I don’t find Proactive to be costly at all. A one month supply of it lasts me almost two.
It’s good stuff! I get compliments on my skin too!
Hmmm should try it then. I’ll check Ebay…
Stuff is crap. For me it worked well for about a year and then everything went downhill and I ended up with a massive breakout and ended up getting meds from the Derm.
Just get benzoyl peroxide 2.5% at the drug store — it is the same thing as the repairing lotion and a lot cheaper
the repairing lotion is amazing
MBS — Proactiv has worked for everyone I know who has used it (not I, as I have perfect Skin) but it does stink… Really really bad stink too.
JSimp is going to be fine, by the way, as long as she continues to work out and keep those boobs perky!
I don’t understand why everyone thinks Proactive is so great. I tried it. It didn’t work for me. I’ve been searching and searching for something that will work, and Jessica Simpson being all over in these Proactive infomercials makes it seem like Proactive is the best thing out there. It’s discouraging.
I recently found on http://campusacnetruth.org/html/acne_gender.html that gender makes a difference when talking about acne. Little secrets like guys produce more DHT and guys have 25% thicker skin than girls (which means acne meds have to go a long way to penetrate my skin).
Maybe the fact that Jess is a girl is helping her out a bit.
Jake,
Have you noticed that most infomercials use girls (not guys) in their acne before and afters? That’s because a lot of the time, these highly mainstream acne treatments have one effect on women and another effect (if any) on men.
This is because most treatments fail to acknowledge the gender difference. They fail to account for the fact that male skin is 25% thicker than female skin, males have more DHT which produces oil, and have high levels of pH which can lead to bacteria growth and over-drying.
They also fail to acknowledge that parabens (which are used in almost every major acne treatment) are potentially harmful and have even been banned in Europe due to links to certain types of cancer!
Why is it that these acne treatments are not adjusted for gender? And why do they continue to use harmful ingredients like parabens??
