Paula Abdul was seen arriving at the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, CA on Friday (August 7) and was promptly greeted by fans despite the recent announcement that the former pop star and choreographer will not be returning as a judge for American Idol after eight seasons.

Miss Abdul was happy to chat up photographers and give kisses and take photos with fans while waiting for her driver to load her luggage into the car. Unfortunately, an airport cop issued a ticket to the driver presumably for a parking violation. She attempted to dissuade the officer but did not succeed.

Meanwhile, it appears that Paula will not be claiming unemployment benefits anytime soon as she’s receiving “many wonderful” work offers.

“At this point, there are so many wonderful things that are being offered to me,” she told the Associated Press Thursday while taping a cameo on Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva. “And I got to take a deep breath, sleep a little … and go through everything.”

As for whether Paula will be joining the judging panel on So You Think You Can Dance? “I am not going to rule that out,” she said. “I’m a dancer, a choreographer. Dance is a love of mine. But I have yet to sit down and discuss anything with anyone. It’s all happening within the next couple of weeks.”

“It’s insane right now,” she added. “I’s been a lovely experience and the thing that is the most charming and the most heartfelt that makes my heart swell is the outpouring of love that people showed towards me. And it’s overwhelming and it’s beautiful. And I got to tell you, I’m never going to change who I am at the core. I’m a hard worker, I love working hard and nothing gives me more joy than to be on a project and working with people who are trying to achieve the same goal. And that’s where I’m at right now.”
