   8 coulda done without the vulture FOR SURE… i dunno, is this an anti war statement? is it a dark wish from the artist? is it to make us realize the true cost of war? ooooooh! why not be really cutting edge and show him in a victorious nationalist position…i mean, usually, all we hear is criticism that elites’ children do not carry a burden for their nations, and here harry is a true braveheart and yet that still isn’t enough to satisfy this liberal. anyways, what does iran have to do with it? they’re perfect angels. we’re the only imperialists around.

    22 You know…I can kind of see where the artist is coming from here and he has obviously put a lot of thought into this but to make a dead sculpture of somebody who is still alive is just disrespectful to me and kind of creepy. I’m sure Harry feels pretty awful seeing this and his family would be disturbed by this. It’s in poor taste that’s for sure. He probably only did it to cause a stir, which I’m sure he has already achieved.

    23 debating whether or not something is Art is irrelevant since by its very nature, Art (with a big ‘A’) is without defenition. I think it a better use of time to think about the choices people make in creating and marketing objects and discuss how we react to them. this is what most people with at least general knowledge of art history do. people who dismiss objects as not being ‘art’ at all because they don’t like what the artist is saying are simply showing their lack of knowledge of the visual arts and missing the whole point of creative expression. saying this artwork, or any artwork, is not art is like reading a book that you don’t like or don’t agree with and then proclaiming on that basis alone that it is not a piece of writing, which is just ludicrous.

    24 Cocobra, by your definition, I could take a crap on a piece of Wedgewood, put it on display and call it art. And by your definition, you would have to think about my “choice” to take a crap on Wedgewood, and discuss my “motivation” for taking a crap on a piece of Wedgewood, and applaud my “creative expression.” It’s not art just because some attention-seeking loser calls it art, m’kay? And BTW, your analogy is what’s ludicrous, pet. Call a book a poorly-written, incomprehensible piece of trash doesn’t make it “not a book.” It simply means it has been judged and found unworthy. Calling a piece of art garbage means it is unworthy as well. Creating something for the sole purpose of getting publicity is not art. And art, whether crap or genius, is not immune from criticism. Do supplement your “general knowledge of art history” with a couple of classes in Logic, sweetie. You’ve obviously some serious problems in constructing a logical response to someone calling a piece of shit a piece of shit.

Sure, if you called it that - but my opinion would be that you are an artist that creates crap. Art can exist to be art in it’s own right (even though YOU don’t like it - it will still be art despite you). Honestly, what a tool.

So it goes with art. Just because I shit on a piece of Wedgewood and call it art doesn’t mean the rest of the world is compelled to call it thus. It’s shit on Wedgewood, baby. Your calling it art doesn’t make it so, either. And so it goes with the self-labeled artist Edwards and his self-labeled art. Frankly, I could shit on a piece of Wedgewood and have it be more thought-provoking and meaningful than that so-called art featured above. The only tool here is you, Ren, because you can’t seem to understand that not everything is worthy of being called art.
