Jennifer Aniston ain’t the only pretty woman filming on the streets of New York City.
Looking foxy in an all black ensemble, Julia Roberts was seen working the set this afternoon (August 3) on the first day of her new film, Eat, Pray, Love, in NYC’s trendy Tribeca neighbourhood.
In the flick based on a book by the same name, the Oscar-winning actress stars opposite Billy Crudup as husband and wife. After several unsuccessful attempts to have children, Julia’s character leaves to travel the world on a quest for self discovery.
Eat, Pray, Love also stars Javier Bardem and Richard Jenkins. Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B, is producing the film.
As of March 2009, the book penned by American author and memoirist Elizabeth Gilbert had remained on the New York Times Best Seller list for 110 weeks.

I’m not her biggest fan but she looks great here!
Why are so many good roles wasted on an a hyped by the Media created actress whose films are economic flops.
She was never America’s sweet heart just like Islamobama another Media creation.
First of all I’m glad they’ve finally started filming. However this is total bullshit!! So what now - are they changing the lead character to some glamorous figure? This is not Elizabeth Gilbert, how she dressed or who she is. She’s a writer, beautiful but decidedly unglamorous. The person here looks like someone who works at Vogue. So to me to change anything from what is already a perfectly and wonderful story is utter Hollywood bullshit! I guess I shouldn’t be surprised since Javier is about a dozen years younger than her love interest in the book. What stupid nonsense.
Anon1–how about the change “after unsuccessfully trying to have children, she leaves”…as I recall, she didn’t want kids in the book…what’s wrong with that? That’s NOT HOLLYWOOD! You can’t not want kids, you can only be UNABLE to have them! What BULLSHIT!
Don’t get me wrong, children are lovely and wonderful things if you want them but it’s just as ok not to want them as it is to want them!
What can’t a good story be left a good story??!?!
Gawd, look at that beyotch look she’s got going on there. She is NOTHING like the curvy & interesting woman who first came on the scene in Mystic Pizza. Her fame has made her very unlikeable, imo.
I hope that this is Julia’s own clothing and not that of her character. Elizabeth just doesn’t seem like this to me. I’m really looking foward tot his movie, but I hope it doesn’t stray too far from the book.
It’s not okay not to want chidren!
Wow she looks very hardened and I don’t like her after she broke up a home so she could have her own very selfish…
