Sporting some fierce footwear, actress Vanessa Hudgens and co-star Gaelan Connell signed autographs at the Franklin Mills Mall in Philadelphia this morning (August 3) to promote their new film, Bandslam.

Fans started lining up at 7 a.m. for the noon signing, which gave 500 screaming fans, mostly girls, the chance to meet Miss Hudgens in person.

After the signing, nearly 350 people saw an advance screening of Bandslam, which hits theaters August 14.

Meanwhile, Vanessa says she finds it “weird” reading gossip about herself.

“Reading gossip about myself is so weird,” she says. “Sometimes I’ll laugh because it will be a hysterical picture. There’s nothing you can do to control it, it’s out of my hands so I might as well just giggle about it.”

The 20-year-old also admits she’s a shopaholic, and is quite keen on British fashions.

“I’m a shopaholic and I think Topshop in London is amazing,” says the Disney darling. “It’s a massive treasure chest to look through. I love UK fashion. I remember the first time I was in England. I was like, ‘Wow! I need to dress like everybody here because it’s incredible.’ It’s so much more over-the-top and I feel everyone takes a lot more risks than people do in L.A.”

Asked how she keeps in shape, Miss Hudgens says, “My workout combines Pilates and boxing together and it’s amazing. There is only one woman in L.A. who does it at the moment, so it’s special. I go with Ashley Tisdale, and Haylie Duff and I love taking a class with my girlfriends because we keep each other going.”
