Looks like all the unexpected buzz and subsequent leaks from Britney Spears’ latest album have finally paid off — ‘Blackout’ will be released on October 30, two weeks earlier than expected!
So, now the question is: Will you be purchasing Brit’s new album? Does she even have a chance of scoring a number one record despite her ongoing personal/legal problems?
Stay tuned!

I believe this is just for the UK, and not the US.
God I hope this album flops but I have a really bad feeling it is not going to.
Im going to buy it..
I just want to buy it to piss people off, make sure it sells more than the Kelly Clarksons and Avril Lavine types. I dislike them ALL! Insert diabolical laugh….
It would be great if this album tanked…maybe then she would get her priorities in order..but I feel it’s gonna do great…but I really wonder who the target audience is now…surely it can’t be bubblegum blowing pre-teens anymore?
Just remembered…my ex husband’s wife loves BS.
What a complete idiot!
(both of them)
Does anyone buy CDs anymore? I just download the tracks I like and skip the filler.
^Same here.
I will not “buy” from Britney again- unless she gets her act together.
I will not reward this woman for irresponsible behavior.
I’m sure it will do well due to all the negative press. She won’t give a shit, though and will probably skip all the promotional work. Too strung out to deal with it.
I will never buy her album. I wouldn’t even download illegally for free with no consequences.
I think you have to separate the music from the person. Good music is good music regardless of the person that is performing it. I’m sure people have bought a lot of music off people who aren’t necessarily ‘great’ in their personal lives before, its just that you haven’t realised it because their every step isn’t reported every single day. Look at people like Kurt Cobain…he wasn’t the greatest role model but his music rocked. Music is a totally different thing and I think its very immature to decide not to like a song or buy an album just because of the person who made it.
The leaks that I have heard are actually pretty good and apparently most of them aren’t even going to be on the album. I will buy the album, not because I support Britney in her personal life, but because I like her music and I’ve liked her music in the past. I’m excited about getting some new tunes to dance around to in the bathroom!
fuck yes im going to buy it!!
i would buy it, but i don’t like her new sound. i prefered the britney who sang “oops” and “i’m not a girl, not yet a woman”. these hip-hop/electro beats sound way cheap for me.
“I will not “buy†from Britney again- unless she gets her act together.
I will not reward this woman for irresponsible behavior.”
Amen to that, PSL!! Totally agree with you.
never have, never will.
it will do well…..the publicity will probably hype about the first day sales (the CDs selling through the roof) when in actual fact they might just stock up a bit and hide the rest so when it seems like sales are really skyrocketing, everyone wants a piece of the action and they just release more copies.
I’ve liked and still listen to a lot of Britney’s past music. But as I said before, “I will not REWARD her….”
same goes with Michael jackson.
I can’t even STOMACH R.Kelly…….I cannot separate the music from the person. It is a respect issue for me. If I foiund out Elvis Costello raped litlle girls, or Fiona Apple ate dogs for breakfast, I’d cut them out too- and they are HUGE musical influences for me.
Maybe she needs to be on stage again to focus on her career and get back in control. You never know.
I’ll buy it
Stephi- I think you’re forgetting a key difference between what Kurt Cobain did and what Britney Spears does. Kurt Cobain was a singer/songwriter/guitarist. He actually put himself into his music and created it. He did NOT just buy songs written by middle-aged men who failed to become famous in their own right, overly-produce them and put out an album. The thing with Britney Spears is that she is selling her look, not her talent. I think it’s questionable whether she has any talent at all– or at least more talent than you or me or anyone else on the street who bought dance and voice lessons. So when her album comes out, good music or not, it isn’t HER. The music isn’t HER. What you’re buying into is her image and I don’t think anyone wants what she’s putting out there image wise right now.
Sorry for the rant. There’s just something about pop music that brings it out in me.
