Kate Hudson stepped out with a male companion yesterday (July 30) and it wasn’t a professional athlete!

Cutting a casual figure, the 30-year-old actress was seen visiting a pet store with her son 5-year-old son Ryder Robinson. On their way out, a small white puppy caught Ryder’s eye.

Meanwhile, it appears Kate and beau Alex Rodriguez chose the Yankees’ annual family picnic as the place to quit being coy about their relationship on Saturday.

As the New York Daily News so subtly put it, A-Rod and Hudson “put on a very public display of affection for the first time, locking lips” during the event.

It was also reported that “the lovestruck pair canoodled” after the Yanks lost to Oakland.

Miss Hudson has been at several Yankee games recently, cheering A.Rod from a front-row seat.
