Sarah Jessica Parker, who reprises her role as the New York columnist in the upcoming ‘Sex and the City’ movie, did not fail to impress yesterday as she was spotted on set in a look best described as 80s fashion victim-meets-naughty schoolgirl-meets-the bag lady down the street.
Rocking thigh-high argyle socks with brown peep-toes, a cobalt blue ‘STAY ALIVE IN 85′ slogan jersey and charcoal button down overcoat, the 42-year-old actress proudly showed off the quirky style combination that we’ve come to expect from the Big Apple’s most famous fashionista.

She does wear some crazy shit but someone it does’t look as crazy as it would on everyone else. I wouldn’t even walk around in my own home in that but she parades around the streets looking quite confidant. Where do we sign up for that self esteem gravy train?

my2cents - I beg to differ STRONGLY - I live in New York AND I’ve worked in the fashion industry at Allure Magazine, I stroll around the streets just as confident (and actually MORE confident because I was born and raised here - I didn’t have to buy or beg for self-confidence - it comes from within). You’re looking at a woman who is in a movie, getting paid to dress outrageously (albeit “fashionable” if you will). Sarah J. doesn’t walk around with that shit on and, for all of her fashion sense, whenever she dresses outrageously she looks JUST as ridiculous as Carrie does in this photo. She’s 42 not 22. She looks like an idiot.

I actually like the t-shirt, but well… It would have looked better with jeans or a miniskirt.
Pat Fields is a little crazy, but I think SJP looks kinda cute in the knee socks. You have to have some killer legs to pull this look off.
