Following an endless promo tour which took them from Toronto to Cannes and back again, actors and costars Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes and Joaquin Phoenix celebrate the fruits of their labour by attending the ‘We Own the Night’ premiere in New York City’s Chelsea West Theater on Tuesday.
While lady Eva was a vision in a white asymmetrical gown, the gentlemen kept it simple in tailored suits — Mark’s a navy blue Armani, Phoenix’s a custom-made grey number.
The movie follows the true life struggle between New York City police and a Russian mob that targeted law officers and their families in mid 80s. Sounds like a typical The-Departed-meet-American-Gangster flick, but on the bright side, Eva strips down in her steamiest sex scene to date with her equally hot co-star Joaquin.

I saw a preview of this when I went and saw 3:10 to yuma (not that good) and it looked really good. Mark Wahlberg seems like he is getting better roles lately. Joaquin Phoenix is a really great actor.

Eva’s beauty reminds me of Angelina…powerful, striking, intense and exotic. She takes me breath away with her sensuality.
To me Eva is just a Latin version of Jessica Simpson. I’m surprised that other people don’t comment about that. I think she looks really beautiful here but her lips are a bit much in that top photo…not attractively big like Angelina’s.
this is a movie I’d actually see in the theater. Wahlberg is fantastic- so is Phoenix.
Eva has never come off as a dumbass, so I don’t get where the Jessica Simpson comparison comes off. Eva is not a brilliant actress, but she’s not laughable, like Chestica.
