NATALIE PORTMAN: THE LADY IN RED

darjeeling-premiere-natalie-portman.jpg

Actress Natalie Portman goes Old Hollywood at the premiere of ‘The Darjeeling Limited’ in Beverly Hills, CA on Thursday.

Donning a drapey red silk number with black pumps and a retro ‘do, the 26-year-old starlet kept it fashion forward as she worked the red carpet at the star-studded soirée.

And while we still maintain that Natalie can do no wrong, we’re not quite sure how we feel about the ensemble.

Our thoughts?

Yeck. Too many ruffles in unflattering places.

Funny how “retro” is also “fashion-forward”. As for the dress itself, it could have been prettier if it had shorter ruffles and had been a deeper red.

the dress is waaaaay to 80’s for me, but I like her hair and makeup.

She’s kind of ugly to me. I think it’s the forehead.

I think she really pulls it off. Looking at the dress just on the rack I would definately not think it could look this good on somebody. It’s beautifully made though when you look closely and it really suits her. I like that she tried something different, she’s often a bit safe when it comes to fashion.

    i don’t like the dress.
in the top big picture though, she looks beautiful and the ruffles work there.

She looks stunning as usual but I don’t think its as 1940’s as she would have liked its a bit 80’s power woman meets flamenco dancer.
There’s something off with her face, I really don’t like that nude lipstick, she could play up her lips more. Hair is fabu

I think she looks gorgeous. This is edgy for her taste and she pulls it off. I don’t think she is THAT pretty though; she’s pretty but not sexy. For lack of a better term; she has a “stiff” smile.

From the first pic I thought she might have a black skirt or pants on with it — now, that would have looked better.

she is lovely, i love her deep set eyes…the only thing i don’t like about her is that she seems stuck up.

That dress is fug. It doesn’t look like it’s fitted correctly, and all material just hangs off the bodice, while the wrap-style skirt looks a bit skimpy, like it could have used another half-yard of material. Too much going on up top, not enough going on down below the belt.

The fabric and the color, however, are stunning. Such a shame it couldn’t have been put to better use.

    @ Miss:

She’s not stuck up, she just keeps her private life private. You know, the same thing everybody on these gossip blogs wants Britney to do.

    I just can’t stand her.

i don’t think she’s stuck up because she’s private about her life. i just think she gives off this elitess attitude.

Miss: it’s ELITIST. If you can’t spell it, perhaps you shouldn’t be using it. Try something simpler, like “bitch”, or “stuck-up.” Those should be MUCH easier for you to spell.

    Absolutely gorgeous.
