BRITNEY LAYS DOWN THE LAW FOR SWEDISH PHOTOGS

britney-swedish-photographers

A number of major Swedish newspapers are threatening to boycott Britney Spears’ concert in Stockholm on Monday night because of restrictions being imposed on their photographers.

Publications like Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet, Expressen and Aftonbladet claim they don’t like the fact that the pop star’s contract bars the papers from reselling the pictures and from publishing them more than 30 days after the concert.

Roger Turesson, photo editor of Dagens Nyheter, tells the Associated Press today (July 10) “the next step would be to tell critics they can’t write anything critical.”

I think she has gotten to the point in her career where she can make these demands, I’m not shocked at all and this doesn’t seem like that crazy of a request?

I agree with you Meaghan. Britney is constantly hounded by photographers trying to get the money shot of her. She has the power to ban them from her concert completely, so I think this request is reasonable. Photographers push the boundaries with her all the time and have taken pictures of her a million times without her consent. Now the tables have turned and she’s laying down the law they can’t handle it.

I see nothing worthy in her, and that face is ugly as hell she has a belly hanging out after all that lipo and tummy tucks and crap she still looks like hell!

In Sweden, we have a social rule that the majority of the people live by called Jantelagen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jante_Law). If anyone here acts like a diva you will not be very popular. Maybe that is why her demands seem so outlandish to Swedes…

I don’t think it’s BRITNEY making the demands. I’m pretty sure it’s her FATHER. Pretty soon he’s going to be charging to bring your camera to the concert…and then not let you share any of the pics.

Britney does not have a right to censor the press in Sweden. If she doesn’t like the laws there, then she can go elsewhere. If the press takes a picture of her rolls hanging out or writes a less than pleasant review, it’s their right to do so.
