Anybody who’s nobody showed up to last night’s (July 7) launch of the new OP campaign “OPen Campus” at Mel’s Dinner in West Hollywood.
Leading the flock of C-listers was none other than Kim Kardashian who looked surprisingly fresh and clean considering she spent the morning “crying and remembering” at Michael Jackson’s public memorial.
Joining the reality starlet at the OC bash were none other than fellow Hollywood types AnnaLynne McCord, Bow Wow, Brody Jenner, Jayde Nicole, Jodie Sweetin, Joel Madden, Kellan Lutz, Khloe Kardashian, Lo Bosworth, Nicky Hilton, Solange Knowles, Sophia Bush and Stacy Keibler.
Meanwhile, shortly after the MJ event earlier in the day, Kim took to her Twitter account to document her reaction to Paris Jackson’s tearful words about her father.
Here’s a rundown of what most of Hollywood had to say:
Kim Kardashian: “Michael’s children were so brave brave 2 stand there on stage & speak to the world about their father…I spoke at my dad’s funeral & it was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I was shaking & crying & what Paris did was sooo soooo brave!”

Serena Williams: “Today, we honor Michael Jackson for his love, music, & being a genius. I’m still shocked. Please, share your favorite songs. Thriller is great. Remember the Time is such a classic as well. Life is short, but his music will never die. MJ was subjected to harsh words, but I hope that people find understanding & stop judging.”
Emmy Rossum: “Beautiful memorial. I cried when Paris spoke. I hope the family is able to grieve and their privacy will be respected during this time.”

Ok, while I do feel terrible for his children, I think Rev. Al could have said something better than telling the kids that their father wasn’t strange. He was. And even if things were absolutely “normal” for those kids at home, even if they were sheltered from the court of public opinion, one day they will see just how strange their dad was. All they have to do is get on the internet or look at old footage. He should be remembered for who he was, not what he wasn’t. I personally don’t think its a bad thing to be “strange” or eccentric. I just don’t think his kids should be lied to.
