The stars have started to descend upon the Staples Center in Los Angeles for Michael Jackson’s Public Memorial Service.
Longtime friend Brooke Shields and Erwin “Magic” Johnson put on a brave front as they posed for photogs together. R&B crooner Usher, meanwhile, could be seen immersing himself in the event’s program guide.
At this point, the brief private memorial service at the Forest Lawn Cemetery Memorial Park Hall of Liberty in Hollywood Hills is over. A motorcade of Escalades, Range Rovers and Bentleys carrying the Jackson family arrived at the cemetery around 8:15 a..m. PT, followed by fire trucks and a police escort.
Just moments ago, Michael’s gold casket covered with red flowers was put in the hearse to head to the Staples Center.

Brooke looks very pretty here. She has taken good care of herself.
I think Brooke is gorgeous, she always has been. She spoke beautifully and honestly about Michael and it can’t have been easy for her. I think she was one of the few who really understood him.
