Friends and family of Michael Jackson gathered to mourn the superstar at a private memorial last night (July 6).
About 1200 guests, including members of the Jackson clan and close friends, gathered in the evening to remember the King Of Pop at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills.
The service, entitled A Celebration Of Life, reportedly took place in a large auditorium and featured Michael’s closed casket.
MJ’s siblings La Toya and Randy and his longtime hair and make-up artist Karen Faye were seen entering Forest Lawn, while a hearse was spotted pulling up to the complex.
Earlier reports suggested that the Jackson family would pay their final respects at a private function for the singer this morning at Forest Lawn, before laying him to rest in the park’s cemetery.
Meanwhile, thousands of fans and a host of celebrities will attend a special ceremony at the Los Angeles Staples Center later today to pay tribute to the icon, who died last month after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Eh the poor citizens of California having to pay for this mess. They can’t get their tax returns back on time but they’re going to have swat teams at this thing? Get some sense of perspective
Have they even buried the guy yet? Or are they prepping his body for a 50 city US tour? It’s been 12 days since he passed. Haven’t the Jackson family heard of respectful, timely burials?
No, they haven’t. They’re going to put him on display at the expense of the people of California. They’re forcing the city to use police, fire, etc. You think they could of buried the man in a private ceramony and then later have some sort of tv special and/or fundraiser? That is what the police are there for….crowd control and maintaining peace on the streets.That is what they get paid to do.I am sure the Jackson family as well as the many other celebs will have private body guards on hand that they have hired out.
