Is the sudden onslaught of media attention getting to Debbie Rowe?
After dining at the Great Wall Chinese Restaurant in Lancaster, CA yesterday (July 05), Michael Jackson’s ex-wife suddenly lashed out at the media as they tried to speak with her on her way out.
While Debie is currently considering a bid for custody of the late King of Pop’s children after a court gave temporary guardianship to his mother Katherine, a publicist who served MJ between 2002 and 2004, says he “didn’t believe” the children knew Debbie was their mother.
“The understanding in the Jackson camp was that she wasn’t known as the mother,” says Stuart Backerman. “Debbie was known as a close friend or relative. It might have been a relative, or someone who was close but not related.”
Meanwhile, details of Debbie’s first fight to regain custody of her kids back in 2003 when Michael was accused of child sexual abuse have been published.
When the Thriller singer was cleared of any wrongdoing at his trial, Debbie agreed to give up her custody request. News of the World reports she agreed a 10-year deal with the star, said to be worth $6.5 million. That’s on top of the $8.5 million pay-off she initially accepted from Michael in exchange for giving up any claims to the children.
