Oops…she did it again — as in, she broke the law!!
Britney Spears was photographed driving her car in California yesterday — the very same place where she does not have a valid driver`s license.
And get this: Spears has never had a California license for all the years she’s lived in L.A.!
A DMV official told TMZ, “At this point, Britney Spears does not have a valid California driver’s license. She has an application pending that she never completed.”
Well, of course she doesn`t have liscense — that requires planning and organization. But more importantly, where is girlfriend`s seatbelt?

IF SHE HAS A LICENSE IN LOUISIANA IT’S APPLICABLE TO CALIFORNIA.
If her home of residence, and the state she bases her income taxes on, is in Louisiana, SHE IS NOT REQUIRED BY LAW TO HAVE A CALIFORNIA DRIVER’S LICENSE.
It’s ILLEGAL to have two state licenses, when you get a new license in a new state, they TAKE the old one.

PSL can you prove she files taxes in California? She’s got a residence in Louisiana, and if that’s listed as her home of record, then she doesn’t have to get a California driver’s license no matter how long she owns homes there.

If she files her divorce in the state for which she resides (California), isn’t then California considered her legal residence. If so, then she would file taxes in that state as well, right? So, why would it not be considered her legal residence when it comes to obtaining a driver’s license?

Where you live physically (though not necissarily your HoR) usually for 6 bmonths determines where you have to file for divorce.
Example:
Your HoR is Alpha state, but due to being in the military you live in Beta state…you file for divorce after living in Beta state for six months (or whatever the residency requirement is for the state).
Just because her HoR (may be) Kentwood (since she has a home there), since she was physically residing in California, that’s where she has to file.

While I was waiting for your response, I did check the California DMV website and it states that:

“If you are a visitor in California over 18 and have a valid driver license from your home state or country, you may drive in this state without getting a California driver license as long as your home state license remains valid.
“If you take a job here or become a resident, you must get a California driver license within 10 days. Residency is established by voting in a California election, paying resident tuition, filing for a homeowner’s property tax exemption, or any other privilege or benefit not ordinarily extended to nonresidents.”

With that said, I guess she should have gotten a California license a long time ago, as she took “a job” there. Plus, I’m pretty sure she filed for a homeowner’s property tax exemption. She did buy a house that she lived in and not rented out to others, right?
Oh well…I did learn something today.
YOU don’t get to decide which state you pay your taxes in, the government does. Just ask George Sr & Barbara Bush who winter in Texas and summer in Maine and intentionally stay in Texas 21 more days than they do in Maine to avoid state income tax.
If they can prove she spends the majority of her time in California (which is CLEARLY documented on this site alone) she’s a California resident and required to abide by all of their laws.
Who’s moved and decided not to change your address on your license until the renewal b/c its a pain in the ass to do it. You get pulled over and the cop finds out you live at a different address YOU ARE TICKETED because you have 90 days to update your LEGAL address. Her Louisiana residence cannot be her LEGAL address because she does not spend a majority of her time there.

There’s no proof that either of us are right JC. No one has seen her income tax statement, so none of us can say accurately one way or the other, I can only attest to what I’ve known to be true through my experience, and appreciate caligirl doing the research when she commented again.
Caligirl brought something to the table besides invective and assumption, which most people on these comment boards don’t do. That’s something rather noteworthy.

And in my opinion…Britney shouldn’t be aloud to have a license and that should be taken away from her as well since she’s been driving without one all these years.
