According to her publicist, Madonna won’t be at Michael Jackson’s memorial on Tuesday because she’s busy preparing for her return to the stage on Saturday night in London.
Instead Madge will pay an on-stage tribute to the King of Pop when she brings her ‘Sticky & Sweet’ tour to at the O2 stadium.

I really hope she’s doing this to pay tribute to him and not to bring some attention to herslef now that everyone is loving MJ again.

She needs attention because??? Her tour is sold out already. She is just paying tribute to him, and since the tour will go on till september, I doubt she will do it every evening. It’s probably a one off thing. Let’s not forget she was one of the few who spoke out against Martin Bashir. Now everybody is saying how great he was but where were they when he really needed them.

And this is different than the concert promoter releasing footage and saying that they have much more footage that could be released on DVD.
I bet we’ll see a lot more self serving from the Jackson family than from Madonna. She is just paying tribute to him. Like many other people do around the world.

There is no doubt that Madonna loves the attention, but don’t most stage performers? There are a lot of celebrities paying tribute to Michael at the moment in some way, and some of them are probably doing it for a bit of publicity, others as a true tribute to a legend and others again as a combination of the two. Michael himself was the ultimate entertainer, and for whatever motivation I’m sure it would warm his heart to know people are thinking of him.
So what? A tribute is a tribute, no matter when it’s announced. She was a close friend of MJ’s, possibly one of the few people who could possibly understand him and Madge probably misses him dearly knowing that he’s gone forever.

I think it’s only natural for a friend to pay tribute…people always have something negative to say…damn. She doesn’t need to seek attention.
No, Madonna can pay tribute to Michael Jackson. You don’t have to defend her for doing it. Just except the fact that it’s the right thing to do. Let her pay tribute to someone that had so much impact. She’ll do it with a false sense of reality, but who cares. People that believe the idea that Madonna is a fame whore, are not wrong. But not because she’s doing this, because regardless of how well know she’s become, for whatever she has done, her fame is now judged as being a talentless attention seek bit*ch that has to use trick machinery to show the public that she can at least” do something. Her popularity was based on good p.r. & fooling the public. She’s the reason why so many so called performer singers can get away with being famous and not have talent except for the idea that they become over hyped. Let her think that she still has appeal. Sold out shows are the result of good management and false talent in her case. But this.. is tribute to Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson made a contribution to the music world. Sadly it was completely ruined by publicity, but still it’s there. Madonna became famous (not near as famous but who would really want that?) Her so called career is ruined by her own doing. If anybody thinks Madonna has the same popularity it’s stupid. You’re holing on to a destroyed image that you thought you liked back in 1985.
So many haters. She’s paying tribute to a person she actually knew and defended, unlike the countless artists using MJ’s name when they never even encountered him or mocked him in the past.
No PR in the world can sell millions of tickets if the performer doesn’t deliver. Madonna has a reputation of excellent live stage performances, her tours are among the best, and her name sells out stadium all over the world. Her latest tour even surpassed Michael’s tours in terms of sales.
She’s a talented artist and cunning business woman, whether you all like to admit it or not. The words entertainer and superstar are reserved for people like Michael and Madonna. The King and Queen.
