Check out some just-released video of Michael Jackson rehearsing for his ill-fated string of London concerts during a June 23 session at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The 50-year-old pop star would die of cardiac arrest two days later.
Performing his hit They Don’t Care About Us, MJ appeared healthy as he upstaged his back-up dancers, some 30 years his junior.
The Staples Center will now be the site of Michael’s memorial service, scheduled for July 7. The stadium seats 20 000. Undoubtedly each one will be filled.

I can’t believe he was that far into rehearsals and then he just suddenly dropped dead. So tragic. He definitely doesn’t look like a man who is about to die. I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that he is gone and will no longer be around. So very strange.

CCC, it is possible that you are right. But there is a person dancing and singing, with appearent joy and dedication. MJ or someone random, this clip is a statement about life itself, this man was so full of life and suddenly died the same day.
To everyone else, I still can’t believe how much I miss him. Not the portray of a bizarre guy the tabloids created over the last 10 years, but the performer, the dancer, singer and writer.
Upstaged his backup dancers? I’m sorry but I didn’t see any complex moves there…very little actual dancing at all and what dancing there was was fairly slow paced.

Okay this made me pretty emotional. This clip seems to fly in the face of all the accusations of Michael being sickly or miserable. He looks happy and alive here. Were there numerous sides of him constantly battling each other? Probably.

I cannot beleive how disrespectful people are being to Michael. If his charges were proved I would understand it but do you have to go on and on about it now? It’s in the past and he’s not even here anymore so leave it be. I loved Michael and I find it so sad to watch someone perform like this and to know that just a few days later he died. Terribly sad. People who have so much hatred for another person, especially someone who is dead need some serious help.
I wouldn’t say he upstaged them as it’s just a rehearsal and he clearly wasn’t putting his all into it, from what I’m seeing. But he definitely looks a little tired. Still miss him. RIP.
He didn’t upstage anyone here. He was hardly dancing in that footage.
