The convicted swindler was sentenced to 150 years in prison for his multibillion-dollar fraud scheme.
Over ten victims spoke in court and several hundred spectators were on hand to watch justice be served.
Madoff’’s lawyer asked for a 12-years sentence, but told the court that Madoff expected “to live out his years in prison.”
Afterwards, Madoff made a statement. Among the excerpts:
– “I dug myself deeper into a hole” as the fraud scheme progressed.”
– “I cannot offer you and excuse for my behaviour, how can you excuse betraying thousands of investors.”
– “I don’t ask for any forgiveness. I did not intend to do any harm, but I did a great deal of harm I made an error of judgment. I could not accept the fact that for once in my life I failed.”
– “I left a legacy of shame.”

I think prison’s too good for Bernie. Why send him to a country-club prison where he can live out his remaining years comfortably? I say make him live in a cardboard box in Times Square, washing people’s windshields for a living and begging for spare change. Make every single day of his life as miserable and as uncertain as the people whose life savings he squandered.
It’s a sad commentary that this guy who stole money get’s 150 years, yet a murderer who takes a life get’s like maybe 12 years, maybe 25 if that. Makes you wonder what society values more these days.
what about a damn child molester who rapes and sodomizes a 4 year old while her 5 year old brother he made him watch gets 1 year.. this man BM got what he deserved~~~
