There have been reports that Elizabeth Taylor “collapsed in her Hollywood home” after hearing news that her friend Michael Jackson had died. Dramatic? Absolutely. True? Not so much considering she has been bound to a wheelchair for as long as we can remember.
Nonetheless, Dame Liz has finally issued a statement on the passing of the King of Pop.
“My heart … my mind … are broken. I loved Michael with all my soul and I can’t imagine life without him. We had so much in common and we had such loving fun together. I was packing up my clothes to go to London for his opening when I heard the news. I still can’t believe it. I don’t want to believe it. It can’t be so. He will live in my heart forever but it’s not enough. My life feels so empty. I don’t think anyone knew how much we loved each other. The purest most giving love I’ve ever known. Oh God! I’m going to miss him. I can’t yet imagine life without him. But I guess with God’s help … I’ll learn. I keep looking at the photo he gave me of himself, which says, ‘To my true love Elizabeth, I love you forever.’ And, I will love HIM forever.”

Thank you JLM! I guess we will never really know what happened in that molestation case, but calling someone a pedophile when they were never convicted is wrong and very damaging. I think what makes Michael so fascinating is that he was different. He knew that as well. He didn’t like the adults of the world, because of all the war and rules that they had created. Children on the other hand were innocent and just wanted everyone to be happy and have fun. That is what he was like. I feel like he was completely misunderstood and he didn’t even realise that some of the things he did could be taken the wrong way. Poor Elizabeth, you could tell that they had a very special bond and my thoughts go out to her in this hard time.
