After peforming to a sold out house last night, Beyonce was on hand today (June 22) to announce Feeding America’s Show Your Helping Hand Campaign at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
In conjunction with her ‘I Am…’ North American tour, the Ego singer hopes to help Feeding America deliver millions of meals to local food banks.
“Through the work I do with my Survivor Foundation, I’ve been committed to helping families get back on their feet in difficult times,” says Beyonce. “That’s why I’m excited to get involved in this effort to help Feeding America deliver more than 3.5 million meals to local food banks. If we all show a helping hand, together we can make a difference in the fight against hunger.”
Meanwhile, remember last week’s story about Beyonce bailing out last-minute on a scheduled appearance? Well, the singer’s record label says she is not to blame for the cancellation.
Music World/Columbia Records said the fete scheduled for last Saturday at the Manhattan club M2 was scrapped as a result of a breach of contract by the party’s promoter.
“Beyonce never had a contract with the club itself and no one in her camp dealt directly with the venue,” her label said in a statement. “The superstar was never scheduled to perform, but was to serve as a co-host and introduce singer/songwriter Solange’s performance. Patrons were falsely promised a performance by Beyonce.”

She really is a robot. I watched an interview of hers on Tyra the other day and she just was really hard to warm up to at all. There were a few moments where she said something sligtly funny, but Tyra really had to get it out of her. Her answers were all very straight and boring. This is a good cause though, so at least she’s not a complete waste of space.
