FYB just got its hands on some new info on Jessica Simpson’s upcoming original series on VH1.
After years of being in the spotlight and (more recently) months of getting scrutinized by the media for her weight, Jessica will now turn the tables on our culture and cultures all over the world to find….The Price of Beauty.
Brought to you by the same people who created Wife Swap, the new VH1 docu-series will take Jessica all over the world to meet every day women. She may also discover some local pop culture icons on their own quests for beauty along the way. Jessica will study the local fashions, dietary fads and beauty regimes and even participate in some of the extreme practices she discovers.
In a statement, Jessica says: “When (CEO of RDF Media USA) Chris [Coelen] approached me with his idea for a show about true beauty, I was immediately intrigued. I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect. I am really looking forward to discovering how beauty is perceived in different cultures and participating in some of the crazy things people do to feel beautiful. I know we will all learn a lot on this journey and I am so excited that VH1 is coming along on what I’m sure will be a wild ride.”
The Price of Beauty is set to begin shooting in mid July and will air in 2010. Executive Producers include Jessica and — surprise, surprise — Joe Simpson.

What’s the price of acting dumb? Maybe a clothing line, tv show, country music album. She should make a show about that.
^^^LOL
Papa Joe really is something else…Who the hell is gonna watch this rubbish??
Is her sister Asslee going to discuss her plastic surgeries on the show?
Is sister Asslee going to discuss her plastic surgery and obsession with weight and looks?
Why does this snatch keep making money? Why? Why do we reward retarded people?
It will be interesting to see what this show is actually like. It has the potential to be pretty interesting. I think Jessica is really entertaining and I feel like she was wrongly attacked about her weight recently. I think she needs to get over it a little bit though and not do this show just to prove a point. I think she’s really naturally gorgeous and reality tv works for her.
I think she will be great on this. I’m looking forward to watching.
