Now that 50 Cent and Kanye West are done with their little marketing battle, it appears we have a new pair of fighting phenoms ready to duke it out.
Recently, branding magnate P. Diddy sent out a challenge as part of his promotional campaign for his new women’s fragrance.
“I challenge all of my female counterparts that have fragrances…that my fragrance is better than theirs,” Diddy boasts. “I’m a man and I know how women should smell!â€
Well, not one to back down from a fight, Mariah Carey, who herself is pimping a new scent, has responded to the call.
“I heard about this competition, and I wish Puff all the best with his new fragrance, but I think we’re actually appealing to different types of women,” says Mimi. “M by Mariah Carey is about being unforgettable, not unforgivable. It’s not about a ménage à trois or a one night stand, it’s for the woman who wants the man to fall in love with her immediately, stay in love, and treat her like royalty.â€

Carey is clearly referencing Diddy’s recently banned commercial which shows the rapper engaging in some rather racy sex scenes with a bevy of beautiful models.

I think its really childish of him to start up a competition in the first place… a lot of these rappers need to put their ego in check and realise they really aren’t all that great. Diddy might have sold a lot of records but look at his personal life. Everyone has their good and bad points. Arguing over whose perfume is better is kind of pathetic though.
