THE MCCARTNEYS GO MEAT-FREE

meat-free-monday

It was a union of vegetarians as celebrity herbivores of all kinds joined Sir Paul McCartney and his vegan designer daughter Stella at the launch of Meat Free Monday at Inn The Park in London today (June 15).

The planned-to-be annual event is a quest to get us all dropping meat out of our diets for just one day a week. Cutting back on meat consumption is said to not only slow climate change, but will also help to fight global hunger and improve the welfare of animals.

Kelly Osbourne, Kate Bosworth, Laura Bailey, Matt Lucas Moby, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Yoko Ono were among more than 40 clebrities who added some star power to the campaign.

Says Stella: “”The reality is a lot of people don’t eat meat every day. You don’t have to be a vegetarian to cut out one day of meat consumption. It’s something anyone can do.”

Well I’m meat free everyday and it really isn’t that hard for me. It’s not that I don’t like the taste, I figure it’s just one small change in my life that will help our planet and the animals that live in it. I have no problem with other people eating meat and I’d never force my beleifs on anyone else, but just cutting it out of your diet for one day should be easy.
