NICOLE KIDMAN LAYS LOW

90613w5_kidman_b_gr_02

Clad in a hat and oversized sunglasses, Nicole Kidman tried to keep a low profile while strolling in New York’s West Village today (June 13).

The 41-year-old rumoured-to-be-pregnant actress has been calling the Big Apple home for the past couple of weeks but she is planning an Australian Christmas this year when she joins her country singer hubby Keith Urban on his tour Down Under in December.

It will mark 11-month-old daughter Sunday Rose’s first Aussie tour.

Meanwhile, in a new interview with the Herald Sun, Keith opens up about how life as a husband and father has changed how he works as a musician. Making sure he schedules his shows over the weekends so he can return to “his girls” for a few days, the country crooner says: “It has put a much better perspective on touring and playing live. There isn’t that sense of desperation out there and I actually have a deeper love for it. Getting out and playing live is just so joyous to me now.”

I find her so incredibly plain and overrated. I just don’t even think she is a very good actress. Australia would have been so much better without her in it. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was pregnant again, she’s getting older and if she wants a bigger family she’s kind of gotta get onto it now I guess.

How on earth could she have been calling NY home for the past couple of months when she only started filming Rabbit Hole 2 weeks ago, she has been in NY for less than 3 weeks. She moved to NY at the end of MAY before then, she was in Nashville.

Love Nicole and Keith and love to watch Nicole’s movies over and over again. Bewitched is probabily my favorite because I like romantic comedy but I want to see Birthday Girl again even though it is a more serious movie! I love her movies!

Bewitched? Wow! I couldn’t even watch all of that. I like a few of her movies, but I wish she wouldn’t use that weird breathy voice so much. She does look pregnant, I’ll be surprised if she really isn’t.

Why do some Australians get so touchy when New York or Nashville are referred to as her home? It IS where she lives most of the time. Do you get mad at her if she refers to Nashville as her home? I think she has said that before.

I’m sure she also considers Australia her home just as many people feel a special connection to wherever they lived as a child and teenager.

I think it is kind of strange how so many Australians are so possessive of Australian celebrities. She doesn’t live in Australia for any substantial amount of time, she usually just visits for a few weeks a few times a year. What is the big deal? Is your self-worth dependent on whether Nicole is always connected to Australia in the press?

I’ve never noticed these kinds of pissy comments from people in other countries about celebrities from their homeland that live in the U.S., but there always seems to be these kinds of comments from Australians that seem to be insulted because their country wasn’t mentioned as the home of Nicole Kidman or whoever - (insert other Australian celebrities here).

I guess I still can’t get over the fact that she has 2 children with Tom that you never see her with. I obviously don’t know the whole story, but to me it seems wrong and weird. I don’t like that about her.

This bad overrated actress was actually born in America. The freaking australians can have her back one less ugly untalented actress walking around New York is fine for me. Nicole’s career proves that with a rich successful husband and powerful friends like Rupert Murdoch can give the most mediocre woman a stellar career. Thank God the general public realizes that this witch is no talent freak and stay away from her films. Completely worthless. Amazingly she went on about how great motherhood was, you would think she would spend less time making films that don’t make money and spend time with her homely looking little baby and drug and alcohol addicted husband.

Anonymous, how can you be so mean to someone you’ve never met?
Fair enough if you don’t like her acting, but so what - don’t insult their personality or their private life situations.
You took it way too far, Anon.
I personally think Nic is a great actress - I loved her in Australia! And I’m looking forward to Rabbit Hole - sounds like a great film!

Nicole sucks as an actress, mother, and probably a person. All of her actions prove what type of person she might be. I AGREE WITH MICHELLE THE BELLA AND CONNOR SITUATION IS JUST STRANGE. She acts as if Sunday Rose is her first child.

Lol! How hom many crazy cruise fans are coming to blame nicole kidman!! ahahaha…yeah, isabella and connor’s situation is strange because nicole is A SUPPRESSIVE PERSON FOR SCIENTOLOGY AND THA WORM OF CRUISE CRAZY DOESN’T LET NICOLE SEE HER CHILDREN!! HE IS A FUCKING BASTARTD. HE IS UGLY OUTSIDE AND INSIDE. look what he is doing to katie holmes. he is doing exactly the same thing he did with nicole. he’s trying to destroy katie’s personality life and career. Nicole is a good person down on earth, she is unifem and unicef ambassador she is the godmather of the sydney children hospital, she gave a lot of money to build a school for orphans in romany. she is a great person. she is simple and she likes peaceful life in nashville. not like her stupid bastart ex husband, full of his ego, narcisist and vicious.

Some of you people are scary… Nic is Nic and Tom is Tom..they agreed to part amicable, perhaps their fans should tage a page from their book and do the same..
and to the first “anonymous”.. you are so far over the edge, you can even SEE the edge.. You may not like Nicole as an actress, so what, thats called preference..everyone’s entitled to their own opinion,.. but to say such awful things about a woman who at the very least tries to use her status to help the less fortunate, and about a man who had the courage to face and defeat his addictions and about their beautiful innocent baby that has absolutely nothing to do with any of this is the work of sick, sadistic, insanely jealous mind that can only feel selfworth when they are pointing out someone else’s flaws. You are to be pitied.

Well, whatever she looks like & whatever her acting is like she’s still a human being & deserves the same respect any of us do. I really haven’t seen enough of her movies to say but the ones I have seen have surprised me mostly in a positive way. Unless I were inside her world 24/7 I wouldn’t judge & assume things that I have no clue about. Only she and Keith KNOW for certain what is truth & what is totally garbage. As far as where she “lives” Keith just did an interview & his words were “Home is where the girls are”. It’s not where you are it’s who you are with. They are a family (even like many, an extended family) but I see nothing but graciousness from both sides. Sunday Rose is truly blessed to have 2 parents and many other family that love her and care about her. Conner & Bella also have 2 loving parents (no matter what is printed). I wish them ALL every possible happiness & blessing as I do with everyone. We don’t have to agree but we can be respectful. At least they are trying to make the best out of what they all have together.

Can someone tell me about those awesome sandals? I must have them! Adorable.

Liz, I totally agree with you. I think it’s def a non-American thing because Brits and many Canadians do it all the time. If they talk about the virtues of say, living in the U.S., they always have to add the caveat of, “Oh, but I miss (blah). There’s no place like (blah). It’s the place I miss most.” Why do they even worry about this? Weird!

Nicole Kidman is a very fine actress; very beautiful and very intellectual. My nose does get a bit bent when people come from Australia, England, etc., etc., and whine about their homeland. Why do they not stay in their homeland and keep their careers there. They come to America where they go prosper, grow, and have a good life. We all love our country, but for those that are possessed……stay in your homeland. Nicole’s husband, Keith, is very grateful to America and Nashville and a very vocal on the matter. He will always be an Aussie, but he realizes where his career prospered.

With regard to Nationality (Australian, British, etc.), I think any actor who comes to America and is able to establish a lucrative career for him/herself is grateful for what America has been given them. However, they will undoubtedly have strong ties to a different country and culture, especially if they were raised there. So it isn’t unusual for them to speak about their homeland with great pride. Australia has a little over 21M in population and Britain close to 61M (I’m including the entire UK here). These countries are dwarfed by the U.S. So when an Aussie or Brit makes it to the big time, they want to give a “shout out” to their peeps back home. They want to “represent” for their homeland. It’s not a slap at America, it’s more of an acknowledgment of who they are and how far they’ve come. And for Aussie and Brit fans, I’m sure it fills them with pride to hear Nicole say she’s proud to be an Aussie, or for say Christian Bale to say he’s a proud Welshman.

I see your point Jones, but I still think it is strange when some Aussies, such as HMER in the previous post, get so bent out of shape when a writer or commenter says that Nicole’s home is in New York or Nashville, as if saying that is some kind of insult to Australia. It’s just weird, and seems like some kind of strange insecurity and possessiveness, she does live in New York or Nashville most of the time, it is her home.

None of Nicole’s films will ever be considered great. Most of her films are average and the her performance in them are horrific, from her voice that doesn’t seem to fit her body to her overly botoxed face . Crazy Nicole fans need to acknowledge his influence on her career. If these people were so proud they would stay home. They can’t wait to get out of their country’s to live the American dream.
